Daru Burdge

President, East Tennessee





Daru Burdge is President of Consumer Credit Counseling Service of East Tennessee. Burdge oversees the agency's offices in Knoxville, Johnson City and Maryville and is responsible for the agency's marketing and fund-raising activities in the region.


Burdge joined the agency in 2008. Prior to joining CCCS, she was the director of leadership giving and special projects for United Way of Greater Knoxville for eight years. She has held various positions with other nonprofit organizations, including Associated Catholic Charities of East Tennessee, Helen Ross McNabb Children & Youth Center and AIDS Response Knoxville.

   

Burdge is a member of the Northside Kiwanis Club and serves as a volunteer with United Way of Greater Knoxville's Outcome Based Investment Committee.  Her past community involvement includes working with the Social Work Office of Research and Public Service on the development of the Nine Counties, One Vision's Social Services Regional Needs Assessment. She is a graduate of the Community Action Committee Community Leadership program and completed Leadership Knoxville's 21st Century Leadership Facilitation Skills workshop.


Burdge lives in Knoxville and holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in social work from the University of Tennessee.
