Richard J. Skaggs

Rick Skaggs is president of Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Central Florida and the Florida Gulf Coast. He is responsible 13 counseling offices in Florida, including locations in Orlando, Tampa and Tallahassee.

Skaggs served as chief executive officer of CCCS of Central Florida and the Florida Gulf Coast from 2005 until January 2009, when the Orlando-based agency merged with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Atlanta. He pioneered a program that provides education and outreach to 400,000 credit union members at eight credit unions in Florida.

Before joining CCCS, Skaggs served as chief operating officer for Vista Federal Credit Union in Orlando, which provides financial services to Walt Disney Company employees. He also held various other positions with credit unions and banks over his career.

Skaggs also served for 11 years as a member board of directors of the CCCS of Central Florida and the Florida Gulf Coast, including four years as chairman.

Skaggs lives in Orlando and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Troy State University.
